Which is CBD?

CBD is short for Cannabidiol, one of the main phytocannabinoids found in Cannabis extract.

Phytocannabinoids are substances that are structurally similar to the endocannabinoids which is produced by our own body (Anandamide and 2-AG).

The main function is the modulation of endocannabinoids system of the neural receptors of enzymes and cell membranes, promoting an increase in dopamine synthesis, stimulating dopamine receptors decreasing catabolism, stimulating dopamine release and inhibiting presynaptic reception.

CBD has a therapeutic effect mostly to neurodegenerative diseases, such as: Epilepsy, Schizophrenia, Autism, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Mental Disorders.

The main forms of use recently was in Oil, but nowadays there are already new pharmaceutical forms on the market, such as: tablets, capsules and ODTs.

Market of CBD

Currently CBD market is around $ 4.3 billion.

The source The New Frontier Data reports that Brazil has more than 3.4 million people who can benefit from the medical use of Cannabidiol.

According to the IBGE, 43% of adult population has and lives with some disease, dysfunction or chronic pain that can be treated with Cannabis-based products.

In 2018, an analysis indicated that in Brazil by 2021 it would be possible to move 4.6 billion reais.

Since 2015, Brazilian doctors have been able to prescribe, and patients can legally treat themselves with Cannabis. In 2019, ANVISA approved a new regulation that facilitates the marketing of Cannabis-based products in Brazil.
